Did anybody in Chicago have to hire a care helper / medical transport person?

I’m getting my procedure from Dr. Bastian in Chicago in November! I was told that the best way to do it is under general anesthesia. I Don’t have anyone that can take me to/from the appointment. So right now I’m trying to figure out if I should just do it with local anesthesia in the office (less precise, I think?) or hire a medical helper to bring me to and from the appointment. Does anybody have any experience? Is one better than the other?
