Last night something very strange happened, I was asleep and I was awakened by a gagging sensation, I felt in my mouth the taste of when you vomit and I thought I was about to vomit but nothing happened, I want to know if this is what burping feels like.

There was another occasion when something similar happened to me, I was also lying down (I guess being relaxed is what causes these involuntary mini burps if that is what they are), in that occasion I was awake and I felt something similar to when you are going to vomit but much milder, again I had this taste in my mouth similar to when you vomit but I didn't do it.

As someone who has never been able to burp in his life, I had no idea what it feels like and I would like you to help me by telling me if what happened to me is my body burping involuntarily or if it is something else.
