There is a trail that was completed in 2011 that essentially goes across New Jersey - from Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ to the Delaware Water Gap in Portland, PA. 151 miles. I remember seeing a sign years ago (2008 or so) in Portland, PA that a trail like this was in the works and stumbled upon a trail marker a few days ago in Roxbury while walking along the West Morris Belt.
I've tried finding more information about this trail but its website (LibertyWaterTrail.org) no longer exists and the only map I could find was on EveryTrail.com (http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1174397) but this is the only information I could find. I'm looking for a map with more detail - something written out, maybe mileage between landmarks, trail markings, trail marking colors, which trail I should be following, if the entire trail is a single color (this trail intersects a lot of other trails, like the Patriots Path, Lenape Path, etc.)
If anyone knows any details on this trail, I would be so grateful! I reached out to about 15 different NJ hiking websites today. You would think with a trail like this, there would be more detailed information somewhere...
