I love nitrous, maybe too much. I don’t want to stop using it but the thought of making the environment worse scares me. I think all the time about how big companies waste all the time, how doing something relatively small for such a big company would make the environment just a little bit better.
I know that myself not doing nitrous or not doing it as much would make a small difference, barely any difference but it would help a little bit.
Has anyone else thought about this? It scares me that we could be actively partaking in what we’ve shamed for years. Nitrous is only 6% of greenhouse gases and most of that comes from cattle, fertilizer and from cooking utilities but at the same time the effects of nitrous rapidly rising as a recreational drug will start to make an impact on that 6%. That may not sound like a huge percentage but think about how much every single percent matters when it comes to this situation.
I’m not telling anyone to stop doing nitrous, I just want everyone here to think about this too. To be aware of what we could be doing to the environment. If each of us just did a little bit less or are more careful with balloons popping/flying away then even that would make a small difference. I say this with love and with no judgment from me, I love all of you and don’t mean to point any fingers. I just want to make others aware too <3
