I have a 2005 pathy with 260k miles, truck is great but of course it has its quirks and flaws like most things do. But if you have this generation pathy and the heater core inlet/outlet haven’t blown on you yet, replace them before they do!
The parts that Nissan installs onto the heater core from the factory are plastic, which doesn’t usually bode well for longevity. The outlet and inlet have both broken within the past 7 months, (I’m at 260k miles though so admittedly still not terrible that they’ve taken this long to break) the outlet had broken back in November while I was working on it in my driveway, but the inlet broke while driving earlier today and at first I thought I blew my head gasket because of how much smoke was coming up.
If you replace these make sure to get the metal replacement parts! Rockauto sells the metal OE replacements, may be able to get them from Autozone as well. The ones I got are made by Dorman. They’re not expensive and aren’t a difficult job to complete yourself if you decide to do DIY it.
Best of luck out there and stay safe!
