So I live in the PNW and we are about to (supposedly) get some winter storms rolling through soon and about to go on a long trip in snowy areas as well. So I did a quick test/ āre-checkā of the 4x4 on my truck. I drove ~1-2miles on wet pavement going straight.
When I switched over I noticed a distinct hum, and the truck pulls to the left slightly when driving. And it wonāt switch out of 4x4 unless ājostleā the truck going over a speed bump, or if I stop and crank the wheel to the right. I didnāt drive at speed and turn, I was at a complete stop and trying to figure out how not to ruin my truck.
I just used 4x4 a month prior in the mountains with no issue and no whine. Then went to get my truck serviced/re-programmed for the recall, which at that time I figured I should have all the techs take a deep dive look at my parts since I was off roading often with it. Got it back and didnāt worry about doing anything else cause they said āeverything was fine.ā
So if I f*cked my transmission/damaged it, will it be on them since they checked it (I assume) or since I tested my 4x4 on wet paved roads (going under 40mph) that itās my fault? I really hope the mile of driving didnāt ruin my truck
