I have been thinking about how a lot of classic games have had great soundtracks that have ingrained themselves in a franchise "lore". A lot of classic mario and zelda tunes are beloved and get remixed a lot in newer games. I have found that some people feel newer games have not been creating "memorable soundtracks".
So this got me thinking if a great soundtrack is dependent on the game play being superb. Which is why I am asking this question, to see if a nintendo game has had a strong soundtrack even with the game being poorly received. However this question will likely garner many subjective answers and don't necessarily agree or disagree with the narrative I do like to read them so I hope you will share your favorites soundtracks of mediocre or poor games (by the general public).
