Z50 batteries, why wait?

Can somebody please explain why the camera was released last week (which I am really enjoying don’t get me wrong), but the batteries are still not buyable and there is no indication on when they are available?
I mean the battery is not that good, and I certainly need at least one or two extra. Why not release the extra battery when the camera is released?
