Here’s my dilemma:
I just upgraded to a Z 6ii from a D3300. I had the kit F-mount lenses and a 50 mm f/1.8.
I primarily shot with the 50 mm and rarely use the 18 mm - 50 mm / 55 mm - 200 mm. Maybe I use them twice a year for sporting events.
When I got my Z 6ii, I also got the FTZ ii adapter and a 40 mm f/2.
My question is, do I return the FTZ ii adapter and get a 28 mm f/2.8 with the money or keep the adapter? Or should I return the 40 mm and the adapter and get a 50 mm f/1.8 S?
Having both the 40 mm and the 24 mm gives me more range than just the 50 mm. And they’re both primes. I’m worried that if I keep the FTZ adapter, I won’t ever use it for the other F-mount lenses I have.
I mainly shoot portraits.
I’d love your thoughts on this.
Edit: Thank you for the feedback! After multiple comments about DX/FX focal length differences, i realized that the 85mm is probably closest to what i had before. Since the S version is the only one available in 85, I went with a refurbished one on Amazon ($609) to make it a little more affordable.
I’ll keep the 40 mm for now and see if I use it much and if not, I’ll probably sell it.
Hopefully the refurb gods smile upon me and give me a good refurb 😬
Thanks again for all the feedback!!!
