Has anyone else noticed any similarities between Night Vale and Pawnee Indiana from Parks and Rec? First of all, they are both small town with a strong focus on municipal government. The main characters are both extremely passion about their town and extremely disdainful towards their neighboring town (Dessert Bluffs and Eagleton). Both towns hate libraries and fear librarians. Retta (Donna and Old Woman Josie) live in both towns and is passionate about opera in both towns. They both begrudgingly absorbed their neighboring town after their economy collapsed. and both the pawnee parks department and the WTNV radio station file clerk/intern went on to become mayor.
