In the past year I’ve been assessed by IAPT 3 times, seen a mental health nurse twice at the GP practice, and been assessed by the one point of referral service (access team).
So I was surprised to hear today from the community mental health team that I need more assessments, once every 2 weeks for a maximum of 12 appointments before I get my care plan.
Can someone explain why it is so difficult to get therapy within the NHS and why there needs to be so many assessments? Literally my only problem is mood regulation.
