NFL Week 12 Predictions Thread (2022 Season)
Post Body

Happy Thanksgiving, /r/NFL! This week, as you are drowning in leftovers and barely fitting into your sweatpants from eating too much turkey and sides, I hope you all have people and things in your life you are thankful for. Last week was another meh round of predictions with me going 8-6, bringing me to 93-73 overall. How did you all make out? This week we have no teams on byes with three division games to look forward to. And as is Thanksgiving tradition, we have three games on Turkey Day. Let's get to it!

Winner Loser Comments
Bills over Lions While Allen didn't play that well, the run game was able to pick up last week and the ball was spread around quite well. Detroit's young defense was also able to make plays, helping them to pick up a win last week despite Goff not playing well either. I think Allen gets out of his slump and starts play like we know he can.
Cowboys over Giants This could be a great division game to watch while you're stuffing your face with turkey. That is, if the Giants can get past all those injuries. Barkley will need to show up more than he did last week. Dak and Zeke at home on Thanksgiving will be able to make this a close one with the Cowboys taking it in the end.
Viking over Patriots Minnesota stunk it up bigtime, allowing Dallas to rip them up with a 40-3 loss. Cousins will be going up against arguably a better-led defense with Belichick on the sidelines. If he can stay upright, Cook, Jefferson and Hockenson should win this one for him.
Buccaneers over Browns Brady got hot before the bye and won't let the Bucs lose a tossup game like this on the road. The Bucs should be fine going with the running game against the Browns' weak front line, setting up passing shots to the WRs. Brissett will turn in one hell of a game before giving it back to Watson, but it won't be enough.
Bengals over Titans The Bengals are back to form with Burrow and should get Chase back this week. Cincinnati will have trouble with Henry on the road, but Burrow having more weapons is huge. Look for the Bengals defense to force Tannehill into a duel with Burrow with lesser weapons. Cincy keeps up the momentum in Nashville.
Dolphins over Texans Miami has the better running game with Wilson Jr. and Mostert, while sprinkling in a little Tua. The Texans' cover-2 will try to keep Hill and Waddle from burning them. Houston will run the ground game to stay in it, but they don't have enough firepower to keep up.
Jets over Bears Fields is putting in the work, but he's still making key mistakes and the Bears' defense isn't doing them any favors on this four-game losing streak. Fields is now banged up and facing a nasty defense with a limited offense. Wilson looks like a total bust in comparison, but he can get support from the running game and a few big plays. The Jets survive and keep their wild-card hopes alive.
Commanders over Falcons Atlanta needs to run the ball well, but the Commanders do stop the run well. They also have issues in pass coverage, and that won't work well against McLaurin and Samuel. They also can't stop the run or cover backs like Gibson. Washington's defense is playing better overall as the team has gotten hot for Heinicke.
Panthers over Broncos Good lord, what is that game?! Carolina's offense might switch up things yet again. Their defense has held it down with great plays under Wllks and that's not good for a Broncos' offense that can't get out of its own way with Wilson. This game is going to be ugly.
Ravens over Jaguars The Ravens didn't play well last week, with Jackson not at full speed with his running after the bye and the passing was off. Baltimore will get back to running well while the defense will frustrate Jacksonville. The Jags have more spark at home but it won't be enough.
Chargers over Cardinals L.A. has too much diversity in their passing attack for Arizona to handle, The O-line is doing a great job of protecting Herbert. The Cardinals' QB situation doesn't help them with Murray likely to miss one more game. McCoy can try to keep them in the game, but there's not enough talent around him to consistently score points.
Seahawks over Raiders Vegas was able to outlast the Broncos in OT. Seattle off a bye will rip into their weak defense with Walker's running and Geno Smith getting matchups for Metcalf and Lockett. If the Seahawks contain Jacobs on the ground, Woolen can contain Adams. This is a bad road trip from Vegas to Seattle.
Chiefs over Rams The Rams' offense keeps getting worse. Stafford is joining Kupp on the shelf. And the defense seems less motivated and is getting totally dumped on all over the field, even with Donald and Ramsey. Mahomes should be able to give Arrowhead an absolute blowout.
49ers over Saints The Saints' last two wins were really great ones... against the Raiders and Rams. They still haven't put together a great showing against a team over .500. While the Niners are coming off a short week in a high-altitude environment, they have the pieces to win this one, unless NOLA shows consistency.
Eagles over Packers The Pack has been a bad road team. The Eagles, except for the Commanders game, have been a dominant team in Philly. They got away with sloppy play last week and will want to keep the up the momentum with Hurts. His running and passing will confuse Green Bay's defense. Rodgers will get tussled around by a tough front.
Colts over Steelers Pittsburgh will try to rattle Ryan with Watt, but the real challenge will be containing Taylor. They will struggle with Pittman Jr. and Campbell. Pickett steps into another tough defensive matchup, but Harris will keep the Steelers in the game till the end.

Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Good luck!

Playoff Picture with my picks.

Update: 10-6, on to Week 13.

I love your enthusiasm!

Yeah, both of them are dumpster fires. I'm just trying to pick which one is less smelly.

Dude, if you're seeing that then you must have a subscription. I'm blocked behind a paywall. You shouldn't link stuff that others can't read without paying for it.

LOL, there are literally no stats in this article!

Man, I'm not making this stuff up. It could be a perspective thing, but as a non-fan this is what I'm seeing in the numbers and this is what a bunch of analysts are saying.

The numbers don't lie dude.

The team is 6th in the NFL in sacks allowed. If you want to poo-poo on your team after a bad showing for one game, you go right ahead.

They are currently ranked 1st in pressure that turns into a sack and 6th in overall sacks, so pretty good at protecting Herbert.

Their O-line ranks 7th in the NFL.
