NFL Week 5 Predictions Thread (2022 Season)
Post Body

Happy October, /r/NFL! The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping, and we're one month into the season. We're down to one undefeated team, showing just how hard it's been to predict games this season. I was able to finally break even, going 10-6 and bringing me to 32-32. Please post your records as well if you're playing along. This week we have London game round two as well as six division games. Let's do this thing!

Winner Loser Comments
Broncos over Colts Both teams are suffering at the RB positions with Taylor and Williams out. This battle of horse teams will come down to the passing game and the QB being able to move around. Advantage is to Wilson on that.
Packers over Giants With Jones out due to a bum ankle, I don't think this game is going to be close. Green Bay should be able to contain Barkley and air it out in the passing game.
Bills over Steelers Buffalo at home for only their second time so far is going to be loud and difficult for Pickett's first official start. I don't see the QB outshining Allen in this matchup.
Chargers over Browns Both teams are missing defensive powerhouses in Garrett and Bosa. Chubb and Hunt will make some plays for the Browns, but Herbert will be able to air it out a bit and give the team a close win.
Vikings over Bears The Bears are improving their passing game with Fields, but it's still off and they can't fully ride a running game. Defensively, they can't cover Jefferson and Thielen and will get gashed by Cook. The Vikings get another division win.
Patriots over Lions The Pats' offense will make plays on a Lions' defense that can't stop anything. Expect a heavy dose of Harris and Stevenson and for Belichick to have some coverage and pressure to lay against Goff.
Saints over Seahawks It's up in the air if Thomas or Kamara will play this week, but Dalton has shown he's a great backup for the likely still injured Winston. The defense is consistently good week after week, so the Saints just need to finally start playing without mistakes and this should be a solid home win for them.
Dolphins over Jets Miami will be starting Teddy B against his former team, dueling Wilson who has given the Jets' improved offense a boost. The Jets' issues here will be in the secondary trying to handle Hill and Waddle. Wilson doesn't have the same firepower and the Dolphins' defense will get to him more.
Buccaneers over Falcons I don't see Brady and company going for three straight losses. He's going up against a Falcons team where he is 9-0 with 26 TDs in his career. Tampa should get a solid division win this week.
Commanders over Titans Kind of maybe an upset pick. The Titans are unpredictable from week to week. They were lost against the Giants and Bills before beating down the Raiders and Colts. The Commanders are terrible against the pass, but Tennessee has limited options there without Burks. Wentz tends to play better at home against weaker defenses.
Jaguars over Texans Houston got mangled in the running game and also gave up plenty of chunk plays last week. The Jags' front seven will mess with Mills while Lawrence, Kirk, Robinson and Etienne all have their way.
49ers over Panthers San Fran will redeem themselves on the road against Carolina, which poses a defensive challenge but won't be able to move the ball enough with Baker. I can't see a way in which Rhule will outcoach Shanahan.
Rams over Cowboys Good game here. Not sure if Rush will have the offense for another week, or if Dak will be back early. The passing game will have to stand out for a chance to win this one, as they won't be able to run well against the Rams. It'll be a close one, but the Rams take it late with a couple of plays to Kupp.
Eagles over Cardinals This bird game should go the Eagles' way in the desert. Hurts will roll with Brown and Smith and the big-play running game. Murray won't see as many wide-open spaces to run against Philly's defense.
Bengals over Ravens Good division game on Sunday night. The Ravens' pass D isn't living up to expectations with lack of pressure and its cover CBs are disappointing. The Bengals' passing game is back with Burrow and he can again look for the right mismatches for his WRs. Baltimore will have success throwing downfield with Jackson but they don't have the same type of firepower and can't keep up.
Chiefs over Raiders KC's offense is in a groove with Mahomes. The Raiders' offense has become run-heavy as Carr is still trying to settle into his passing game. The Chiefs have tended to win in this matchup lately and will put Vegas in the negative early while hey move the ball at will.

Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Good luck!

Update: 9-7, on to Week 6.
