Steelers |
over |
Browns |
Division games just hit different. Pittsburgh is 15-4-1 in the last 20 games against Cleveland Tomlin just knows how to beat the Browns. Expect to see a lot of the two rushing offenses, but the Steelers’ defense has 7.0 sacks through two games and the Browns just gave up 31 points to the Jets. The Browns will pull out all the stops, so I am not confident at all in this pick. |
Bears |
over |
Texans |
Houston looks good on defense but that offense is not doing them any favors. Fields is making the Bears offense look better, so the confidence for me is higher on the home team this week. |
Raiders |
over |
Titans |
Vegas can have success in the passing game with Carr. The short week recovery from the Titans' loss in Buffalo gives the Raiders a slight advantage, but they'll need to contain Henry to have a shot. |
Chiefs |
over |
Colts |
The Chiefs' offense wasn't as crisp against the Chargers, but they still found a way to make plays. The defense made some huge plays in that game to win it. The Colts have no offensive life beyond Taylor and Pittman Jr. as Matty Ice has come out frigid. Their defense is missing Leonard, too. KC will continue its stellar road play. |
Bills |
over |
Dolphins |
One of the good matchups this week. Buffalo is arguably the best team in the NFL right now. But Miami is also riding high on its great performances the past two weeks. Both mobile QBs will create problems for both defenses. I'm giving Allen the slight edge in this matchup. |
Vikings |
over |
Lions |
Both teams performed the opposite of how I picked them to last week. But I would expect things will get back to "normal" with the Vikings playing at home this week. Minnesota has the better defense and will rattle Goff into making some errors, allowing for Cousins and Cook or Jefferson to captialize. |
Ravens |
over |
Patriots |
Jackson is humming in the passing game and was the sole running game in Week 2. The Pats don't have the receivers to keep the Ravens' secondary slumping and Jones isn't getting help from his RBs. Harbaugh's offense will get the better of Belichick's defense in this coaching rivalry. |
Bengals |
over |
Jets |
The lack of protection around Burrow has been an issue the past two years and the front office has done very little to fix that, resulting in an 0-2 start for the Bengals. They are not taking the Jets lightly and will look to incorporate more of the running game to take pressure off Burrow. The confidence level is low for a Bengals win despite the caliber of QB they have. |
Eagles |
over |
Commanders |
Wentz gets a home revenge game against Hurts. The Commanders' defense is terrible and it won't stop the running or passing game. Hurts will have his way with A.J. Brown. Wentz and Washington have added firepower and Philly has some defensive holes, but he's going to need to play mistake-free football. |
Saints |
over |
Panthers |
Despite the catastrophic failure in their loss to Tompa Bay, the Saints held Brady to just 3 points for almost 3 and a half quarters, so that defnese is stout. If the offense can do what they were hyped up to do, then they can bring the pain to their third division rival in a row. Carolina is playing sloppy and this will be a get-well game for NOLA to go 2-1. |
Chargers |
over |
Jaguars |
The Jags are coming off a shutout division win. But the Chargers have had a mini bye to recover from the Chiefs loss. Herbert and Ekeler should have their way with the Jags' defense while Lawrence faces a much tougher pass rush and secondary. |
Rams |
over |
Cardinals |
The Rams and Cardinals both got rebound wins in last week. L.A.'s passing game is good again with Stafford, Kupp and Robinson. The Cardinals' pass D will be overmatched. Murray will need to deal with Donald the rest of the Rams' defense, which will limit his footwork. |
Seahawks |
over |
Falcons |
Total toss-up with no confidence in this pick. Atlanta has the weapons with Mariota, Pitts, London, and Patterson. But their abysmal coaching has resulted in back-to-back losses that should've have been winnable. Carroll will use the weapons he has to come out with a close win. |
Packers |
over |
Buccaneers |
Regardless of it being Brady behind center, he has no more deep threats to throw to. Godwin, Jones, and now Evans could all not be on the field, restricting the options to mostly run-heavy. In any other situation I would give the win to Tompa Bay, but Rodgers and the Packers have a great opportunity to come out with a win against a fellow GOAT this week. This will probably be their last meeting, so take it all in. |
49ers |
over |
Broncos |
I can't trust Hackett to outcoach Shanahan in this matchup. While you do have Wilson at QB over Jimmy G, Denvers' in-game decisions and clock management are an issue right now, so San Fran has a large advantage giving them the edge in this matchup. |
Cowboys |
over |
Giants |
The Cowboys defense was able to feed off on Cincinnati's porous O-line last week. If they can execute it the same way this week, they have a good chance to take down the Giants who are riding high on a 2-0 streak. The Giants on paper aren't a super team. But they have sound playcalling, they're at home, and they just have to lead when the clock runs out. Coin flip on this game. |
