Cowboys |
over |
Bears |
Despite the loss to the Bills on Turkey Day, Dallas still has the better offense in this matchup and their defense is much better than Detroit's so I can see the Cowboys winning this one after getting embarrassed last week. |
Browns |
over |
Bengals |
Cincy finally won a game! But Cleveland has enough talent to cling onto playoff hopes for yet another week. Browns fans better be careful, all these late-season wins could give Kitchens an argument to stick around. |
Ravens |
over |
Bills |
This could be a sneaky good game. The Bills are just one game behind Baltimore in the win-loss column. Nobody will confuse Josh Allen for Lamar Jackson, but he is coming off the Dallas game with a career-high 120.7 passer rating. He could have another solid game this week, but the problem for the Bills is on the other side of the ball. Their defense is great against the pass and good-but-not-great against the run. |
Falcons |
over |
Panthers |
In an NFC South stinkfest, the all-but-dead Panthers are desperate to stop a four-game losing skid that includes a loss to these Falcons a few weeks ago. I think they'll get swept by the Dirty Birds for the simple fact that Atlanta has a better QB. At least when he's not throwing picks to a DT and getting slammed to the turf. |
Packers |
over |
Redskins |
Green Bay needs to be careful of a trap game here. The Redskins amazingly are still alive in the NFC East, and their rushing attack is solid enough to give the Packers' 25th-ranked rush defense some issues. |
Texans |
over |
Broncos |
Another possible trap game here. Drew Lock played well in his rookie debut against the Chargers, but the Texans just defeated the Evil Empire, which is no small feat. This could come down to a FG. |
Vikings |
over |
Lions |
Detroit can't slow down Minnesota on the field or in the chase for the NFC North title. Their struggles are more about defense, and that unit is set up for a rough day against a Vikings offense that should get Adam Thielen back in the lineup. |
Saints |
over |
49ers |
This is a biased coinflip for me, if that is a thing. Saints have to play cleaner football, because this could come down to the team with the fewest self-inflicted wounds. I think the two intangible factors of 10 days of rest and an insanely loud Superdome will be what wins this game for New Orleans. Game of the week right here. |
Jets |
over |
Dolphins |
With the Dolphins somehow beating the Eagles and the Jets somehow losing to the Bengals, this game is now a little interesting. The Jets may have a slight edge, especially against Miami's still-awful defense. |
Buccaneers |
over |
Colts |
This feels like a game that will come down to the last possession, and with Indianapolis still banged up on offense, Tampa Bay has the better set of playmakers to decide the game in the fourth quarter. |
Jaguars |
over |
Chargers |
Both of these teams are on frustrating losing streaks. Chargers continue to find ways to lose one-score games. Jaguars have lost each of their last four games by three or more scores, hence the reason they're going back to Minshew over Foles. We'll take the team with the Minshew Magic. |
Patriots |
over |
Chiefs |
Another great matchup. I think we'll be past "what's wrong with Brady and the Pats" and into the "nevermind, the Pats are fine" mentality after this game. But Mahomes is getting hot again, so I could be wrong. |
Steelers |
over |
Cardinals |
A close game, I think. Arizona's 31st-ranked scoring defense doesn't pose much of a threat to the Steelers' limping offense. Both of these teams have played in a lot of close games this season. The difference between them is that Pittsburgh has won those games. |
Raiders |
over |
Titans |
A few weeks ago, the Raiders were the hot AFC wild-card contender. Now that team is the Titans. I think the pendulum will swing back to Oakland this week. |
Rams |
over |
Seahawks |
Los Angeles is back on track just in time for a showdown that could determine whether it reaches the playoffs. For many reasons, namely Russell Wilson and a superior overall running game, Seattle should win. The Rams had a much easier game compared to the Seahawks, in addition to an extra day of rest. |
Eagles |
over |
Giants |
The Eagles, losing three straight, are taking advantage of Dallas' losses. Regardless, there's no reason to think Philadelphia will lose at home to a dreadful New York team. |
