The smart move would be to hire a coach and a GM to challenge the Jones family's football orthodoxy. What they're doing from a roster building perspective has hit a ceiling that they can't break through. Hiring a coach who has no real influence in the football operation has worked wonders for them so far.
But that would mean Jerry Jones would actually have to take a backseat and not interfere in football operations, and we know that's not happening.
