Correction, Gray wasn't cut, but benched, and his play time significantly reduced. That was more because Gray wasn't a good player and was one of those players hanging by a thread to his roster spot. A couple of notes
-In 2014, we lost our main power back, Stevan Ridley, to an ACL tear. Gray was signed from the practice squad, as Shane Vereen wasn't
-The week Gray was benched was also the week LeGarrette Blount returned to the team. Blount basically took Gray's job.
-Gray got a bit more work in 2014, but bounced around in 2015 and was out of the league after that season.
