Vortex Sucks

Fired up an old install of Skyrim LE (Oldrim) and was forced to update my NMM (<- Rocked).
So the hundreds of hours I spent tweaking my mods as well as modding is wasted.
Found an old thread that was archived with this title. So....
Reinstall? Not
So Steam broke it and Nexusmods is in bed with Steam?
I have never and will never buy a Steam product.
Everything is in a jewel case. I don't trust digital crooks.
Nexusmods now poo poo too?
