My phone isn't rooted, so I saw I could use Simple ADB Backup to backup my device. Would it mess anything up if I used this to backup my device as is, stock and not rooted, and then unlock the device & root to flash a new ROM, then restore my data? Not sure if it's possible to restore a backup that's stock to a new ROM as the Nexus 6 can be very laggy under 50% battery and wanted to refresh my device rather than drop $500 on a new phone. Also, as someone who's never rooted/flashed a ROM, how long should I set aside for that?
