Bootloop replacement not dozing

Had my 5x bootloop a couple weeks back and google was good enough to replace it for me.
The new phone doesn't seem to want to go into doze though when the sim card is installed. It's been giving me max 13 hours of battery with little use at all.
I did a reset with a fresh install and had the same problem.
I switched out my sim card to another phone yesterday, and then noticed that the 5x seems to be dozing, so there seems to be a problem there.
With the sim card installed in the 5x, the battery drain remains constant even with airplane mode, and even battery saver mode.
Anyone have any clue what's going on here?
