Hi guys, I'm doing a very quick trip to New Zealand with work, and wanted to do one of the great trails. Looks like Paparoa will make the most sense for me.

I've done some long hikes in Central America, and physically i know I'm capable. I have typical stuff, good shoes, waterproof clothing, light warm jackets and so on. I want to know if I'm missing anything and ask some basic questions.

Theres no food available at the huts right?

Is it convenient to get a taxi from the Punakaiki end back towad Greymouth? I've seen shuttles advertised but ideally don't want to be tied to a specific time.

I'll be there around 20th of Nov, what is the likelihood of parts of the trail being closed due to weather? I'm tight on time and don't want to find myself stuck on a mountain for a couple of days and then miss connections and flights!

Anything else I should know specifically?
