Hi all! I'm planning on moving to New Zealand next year around Feb/March from Queensland, Aus. I need some help deciding where to live, however. I was wondering if you lovely internet strangers could provide some advice or opinions on where you'd suggest a 25 yr old Aussie girl chooses to settle down.

A few things to note:

• My (25F) partner (22M) may or may not be accompanying me. We're a young couple, no plans for kids.
• I have family all over the North Island, particuarly in New Plymouth & Wellington.
• I work as a legal assistant in conveyancing here in Aus, he's a mechanic/parts interpreter. Any advice on the job market? We don't mind switching careers temporarily as we may be staying with my father in New Plymouth initially, so I don't anticipate both of us needing full-time jobs off the bat. I don't mind going back to hospitality or working in a different field to support us.
• We currently pay $500 a week in rent here, and could probably up to $600 a week. That works out to be around $550-$650NZ I believe? Are we likely to find a one or two bedroom flat/unit within that price range? Where would be the best places to look?
