Just looking thru a few job positions advertised and are in in need of advice!

Just going to cut and paste then just delete company names and a few specific details but it will still give a good idea of what’s in question here .

At X Company we are committed to increase the diversity of our workforce, and are actively focusing on employing and building a sustainable x culture workforce which supports our pro equity agreement.

Is it not racism to specify a position for a specific culture?

Is it not illegal to discriminate?

Is it worth applying if I’m not of X culture?

If I apply and come up to say final 2 and the only difference being X Culture and I don’t get position again is this not both discrimination and racism

Or If I apply and come up to say final 2 and my qualifications are better but I’m not X Culture and I don’t get the position again is this not racist , discriminatory and just ticking boxes to fill a quota? So X Company can say it’s an equal opportunity employer, when clearly the playing field isn’t level ?

I have found a few positions I really am interested in but if I’m not X Culture is it even worth the application? As the position states they are “Actively looking “ which to me translates to we specifically want X Culture?

And lastly as a side what would happen if the above position stated they were actively looking to recruit Y Culture, would X Culture then have grounds to call them out as racist and discriminatory, Are companies not allowed to have only one Culture of employees if they do deem ?

Just thoughts 💭
