I've made inquiries, but cant seem to find anything at first glance. This is a pivotal issue for me.
I live in a small town; with an economy that depends heavily upon tourism and farming. You could walk into any business in the town at the moment and find employment, because workers are in such short supply. It has gotten to the point where Highschoolers are actively being targeted to fill employment gaps.
However, the issue is not finding workers; but rather finding long-term residence.
A lot of what were previously long-term rentals have now been converted into AirBnB accommodation, leaving nowhere to stay for workers.
This is my personal opinion, but I believe that regulating the AirBnB market to have similar a status and obligations as commercial Hotels and Motels will at least encourage the rental market towards favouring long-term rentals once more. It's a solution to free-up housing without necessarily building more dwellings.
