Does my GS affect what is in the pvp track?

Just like the title reads I’m wondering if the items in the pvp track are matched with my gear score. On one hand I understand why, but honestly that’s fucking stupid, any “awesome” item I might get from the rewards will become utterly useless once I am higher GS not to mention this ACTIVELY discouraged me from doing g any pvp and just doing unflagged chest runs and daily gypsum grind till I gs cap THEN I can finally pvp rewardingly? Please tell me I’m crazy, if this is the case I might finally be done with this game.
