Easy way to make new friends?

As title implies. What's a go-to way to make new friends on this game? Every attempt to chat in general chat either gets ignored or there is always people arguing so Amy other topic get overshadowed. I played this game day one but stopped and now just picked it up again on ps5. And so far only have 2 other friends to play with but I know a 3 man company just won't cut it. Are there discords to meet like minded people?
