Yes he did own them, the point is he wasn't just "any" slave owner, he never actually put them to work in a field or mine till they died, he never hunted them down when they fled or tortured them for fun. Never made a profit from them, so he paid for food, cloths, rooms and whatever else was needed to keep them at huge financial lose.
But yes, he did die a slave owner, as you've highlighted.

Nope, never implied it no stated and as the descendant of slave people I never will. What I was explaining was that in the scope of slavery in Post Revolution America they didn't have it bad compared to other slaves simply because of who owned them and the individual's beliefs they held against slavery. Does acknowledging this idolize slavery or excuse it? No, but it adds context to why things were as they were.
If your only conclusion from this was I'm making a pitch to give slavery a second chance there likely isn't anything I can say to help you, but if you have something more to add that credibly contradicts verified documents and written accounts that confirmed Washington opposed slavery then show me.
