It's not that there's specific thoughts that he deserved it, it's that nobody has sympathy for an executive whose entire existence is dedicated to making lives worse through his industry. He receives no sympathy cause he's a bastard who has definitely caused deaths by proxy of his decision making for his job purposefully.
Tons of people want to see this guy go away for murder.
Sorry but press X to doubt. America LOVES a renegade vigilante dishing out justice. It's quite literally the apex hero of American culture. Batman, John Wick, Punisher, etc.
It’s a sign of what’s to come. Revolution.
If your spouse dies cause her healthcare refused to cover something or put you in insurmountable debt to cover it then eventually some people break.
A relative of mine died in part cause his insurance decided his meds were too expensive and forced him to switch or pay insane costs out of pocket. He had complications and died. If their spouse was alone and angry after, maybe they'd want vengeance and maybe that person would act on it rather than stew on it. Millions of people, someone eventually snaps. It was bound to happen while the economy is expensive and going to get more expensive.
Dude has no interest in murdering anyone else and likely was committed to retribution. I doubt there's mental illness, it was targeted and planned. He assassinated the guy on purpose and with the only care that he was dead.
I just really don't care that a CEO got gunned down. People die everyday. He's not special, he's just some rat executive who screwed over people for profit.
I saw a saying, "live life in a way that doesn't make people want to hunt you down and murder you" and that's pretty simple. If you fuck over a lot of people eventually someone gets fed up with it. Consequences can be small but it can also be your life.
Not about love, but the mystique of someone fishing out justice in perceived elites who are, in their own right, monsters and villains, is something people don't fear. I'm not a healthcare CEO fucking over millions per year so I'm not worried about a vigilante going after me. That is what I mean.
I'm firmly a don't talk to the police unless I have to person. My experiences have shown me either highly uninterested cops, judgemental or lazy. On top of that if you rat out that person you also get the ire of people online who will try to track you down and air your laundry.
$10k doesn't go far today. Especially in NY. $10k isn't even 6 months rent.

It's $10k. That's it. The price to rat out someone who 86'd a CEO is $10k. Nobody is gonna rat him out for that little.
