The last thing you remember might not be when you were drugged. It’s possible you could be drugged later and any recent memories will be forgotten/fail to be written to memory properly. You can lose time leading up to when you were drugged. Conversely, some drugs take time to take effect and you could’ve been dosed earlier than your last memory.

I’m so disappointed that the max prison sentence without killing someone is 20 years in France. At least the dude is old and should live out his last days in shame and behind bars, but some of the younger men on the trial will be out in their 40’s (assuming they even get the max sentence). If the husband happened to be younger it’d be entirely possible for him to walk amongst society again.

Nope, he only took pictures of them naked so clearly he’s the good guy who would never hurt a child just because the pain he inflicted on them wasn’t “as bad” as what he went through. Ick.
