Post Body

Hello everyone,

My girlfriend's daughter's boyfriend is 18 and we are working on getting him his driver's license.

I'm planning on giving him my 2003 Volkswagen Passat, to drive. It's also the only car with a parking brake in the middle as well. It's a 4cylinder with a 5speed manual transmission.

However, we have heard from her sister who is a driver's education teacher that you can't use it because it's a manual transmission car.

I've read conflicting information online as well about this.

I took my test in a manual for both my CDL and my regular D license, but that was 15 years ago.

Anyone have any input here? It's much appreciated!
