Is it ok to miss a week of elementary schooling

Post Body

I'm new to the world of school age children. What kind of punishment do kindergarten and 1st graders get if we took them off of school for a week for vacation?

Looking to take my daughter out of kindergarten in late September/ early October for 5-7 school days.

I just don't like going on school breaks since that's when prices are jacked up and every place is crowded.

Is it really frowned upon in new Hampshire? I heard if they miss more than 20 days, students are flunked? Is that still a thing? Flunking.

Parents canā€™t always get ā€œvacation weekā€ off either, especially if other parents are taking it off. They canā€™t leave the business uncovered if every employee is a parent.

Also, if you have family that lives in another state, our vacations donā€™t line up with theirs, so if you want to go visit, or go on a vacation together, then one of the families has to adjust their vacation.
