Hello and thanks for reading my post! My grandparents are from Newfoundland but moved to Ontario to start their family. It's always been a dream of mine to move to Newfoundland, and I'm wondering how to make that possible. I'm about to start teachers college in Ontario, and I've long heard it's extremely difficult to find teaching opportunities in Newfoundland, but I'm wondering whether that holds true for French Immersion positions as well? I'll be certified to teach French, so I'm hoping that will make some sliver of a difference! If anyone has any insight to offer I would really appreciate it :)
Before you do any course, if your goal is to move to NL, contact HR at the Dept of Education and make sure that your program will grant you a minimum of level 5 teachers certification. As a french teacher, you'll also need to score high enough on the DELF to be approved.
