Does anyone know what would happen to the Basilica if it was sold?

I'm not religious and I'm not really sympathetic towards the Catholic Church and the position they're in right now, but I was wondering if people had any idea of what would happen to the Basilica if it was sold.
Would it just end up as more condos? I do think it's a beautiful building and I enjoy going to Handel's Messiah at Christmas. Given its history in the province I would be sad to see it just end up as more overpriced condos.
