Theres 3 parts to this question, 1: if you have visited the deep south (esp improverished/bad areas) what was your reaction? I was born in Mobile AL and have lived in the south my whole life and visited new england and for me it's was like entering a different country. 2: how educated are northerners on what it's like living in the south (the poverty, laws, racism, homophobia, horrible mental health/prison systems, violent crime, the church being in schools, teen pregnancy rates, gangs ect.) 3: are there any dumb stereotypes like we have in the south? here it's an insult to call someone a yankee, city slicker or blue blood it means they either don't like the outdoors/are a snob/liberal/high maintenance. and I was always told not to go up north because they think of southerners as hillbillies, bumpikns, rednecks lol. anyways those saying of northerners and hatred for them has dyed out for most of the younger generation, it's mainly older southerners I hear say that stuff but im wondering if northerners have their own beliefs/sayings about southerners in the same way?
Nice place to go to get away from the confederate flags up north.
