Not sure if this type of post is allowed but here's my question. I'm doing the initial application for a Canadian adult passport. Section 4, proof of Canadian citizenship, asks for a provincial birth certificate as an option for those who were born in Canada (which would be me). I put the registration number and date of issue from my birth certificate on the form and referred to section M for the instructions which says "the original proof of Canadian citizenship you submit with your application will be returned to you". Does this mean I have to send my original birth certificate to them with my application? Sorry if this seems like a silly question, I would call but don't feel like waiting on hold for hours.
