OTV AED Failover Timing

We have OTV functional between 2 data centers. Each has two OTV VDCs, acting as dual AEDs. The election goes fine, each gets some VLANs, and all extended VLANs are active on one or the other. However, when we test failover and bring down one AED, the other takes about 4 minutes to become active for all VLANs. Is there any way to tune this? We see the timer counting down when we do show otv vlan after shutting the overlay0 interface on one device, it starts around 220 seconds or so.
