Hello, I'm looking for some career advice.
I currently have some problems regarding a summer opportunity which could extend and my university.
I just finished my first year at the Telecommunications university as a student, and planned to work as a summer intern. I have had some work experience working 7months at an ISP, a field engineer and my dad is the owner of a small wireless ISP in my hometown. So basically i learned a lot about networking.
The problem is that my summer employer wants to give me a full time job at the end of my 3months internship, and that would clash with 2nd year of the university. I don't know whether to choose the job, which could give me the money i want to get Cisco and Juniper certifications and further advance in the career (the company also has a cisco academy and can give me a discount on exams) OR Choose to continue the university.
Keep in mind that my intern post is a Junior Networking/Linux Consultant. Which would require (if i didnt had the experience) knowledge from last year of university some more self-learning.
Basically I'm feeling like a nuclear scientist being forced to attend highschool. It also hasnt helped that most of the people working in networking that i'd met also didnt have a bachelor degree.
So what i'm asking, in the international job domain, is an employer willing to look more at the bachelor or at some shiny certifications?
EDIT: I want to thank everyone for the feedback, it really opened my eyes regarding certain things.
