In the documentation for 1:1 redundancy or LACP (that is, setting a failover link in case the primary link fails...so not using LACP in the traditional sense for increasing aggregate bandwidth) the example configuration is:
Router# configure terminal
Router# lacp system-priority 33000
Router(config)# interface range fastethernet 5/6 -7
Router(config-if)# channel-protocol lacp
Router(config-if)# channel-group 1 mode active
Router(config)# interface fastethernet 5/6
Router(config-if)# lacp port-priority 33000
Router(config)# interface port-channel 1
Router(config-if)# lacp fast-switchover
Router(config-if)# lacp max-bundle 1
Router(config-if)# port-channel min-links 1
Router(config-if)# end
The documentation states that in order for failover to work, the primary link must have a higher priority than the backup link. (As is often the case with cisco, "higher" means lower). As shown in the configuration the default priority is set to 33000 and then set again to the same number under int f5/6. So it appears that nothing was changed. Shouldn't the priority have been to set to to anything higher than 33000 (excluding 0) on int f5/6 or lower than 33000 on int f5/7?
