I finally, after nearly two years of playing Nethack, have finally beat it! I don’t remember a lot of the details besides the endgame, since I got my ascension kit mostly ready DLevel 1 and left the game alone for months. But, after I thought that I lost the save file, I decided I should just finally get around to beating it. My only regret is that I didn’t pack nearly as much food as I should’ve, even after eating entire food rations I was getting weak with hunger after a few spells and turns of fighting (I think wizards had hungerless casting, but maybe it’s just something different in FIQhack).

I got a bit lucky on the Astral Plane. I didn’t pack as much food as I should’ve, but I never ran into famine so that was alright. I used an amulet of life saving, but I had some potions of full healing I could’ve used. If I had healed then, my first ascension would’ve been a deathless one! Also, the first altar I checked was the right one, so that was neat.
