Boy swallows universe (spoiler)
Post Body

I'm so disapointed by the ending. I thought it was a good show, the actors were pretty good. I thought it could have been better if they adressed the blatant co-dependency of the mom and how kinda of "dumb" she was (she clearly had trauma, so she's not dumb but making dumb choices, she's naive, emotionally immature...). They kept saying she was gonna study in psychology but like, she seemed not very introspective, so I don't know... Thought it was weird, they just wanted to show a woman that's been in domestical abusive relationship but is not typical, but really she was and the whole university thing was off. I wish they showed her intelligence and strenght more like they showed how the dad learned how to deal with his agoraphobia and alcoholism. A posivite point about their relationship is that they seen to take it slow, so that's better but I mean... she's still has to turn any "close" relationship with a man to a romantic one and that bored the hell out of me. This could have been nice that they just decided to coparent and stay friends. Gus, I liked him in the first 4 episodes. After that, he wasn't as much as important to the story and I thought it was lame, his character developement was almost inexistant, why did he have these powers? why did he continue talking? why did he end up with the girl with muscular dystrophy? What sparked their love? We saw nothing about this, also why did they change actress? They could have just aged up the first one like they did with Gus... She new one looked nothing like the first one, and I think they could actually have taken a woman with muscular dystrophy if they were gonna change actresses... Anyway, I think Eli was alright (I loved how reckless he was, no one could shut him up), but the age gap with Caitlyn is INSANE. We need to talk about this omfg. She's at least 25 (her career is quite established so she can't be younger than that really...) when he has a crush on her, he's 13. That's okay, kid can have crushes but like at the end she's about to kiss him and it's 4 years later... Eli is 17 YEARS-OLD and she's almost 30, that's disgusting and weird. I don't understand how this can be normalised ? Swipe the gender and this show might be cancelled... as it should lmao, cause that's GROSS and weird, not sweet, cute and whatever. She could have just say it, like yeah they both have some sort of relationship attraction but she's mature and would never act on it... but IDK why they choose to make her ready to kiss this boy. Not even legal... That's... beyong gross. And on another subject, the whole thing with the body parts farming... IDK that was boring at most. I wished it was more mysterious, more painful too... Cause the show was pretty sad and kinda deep at the begining but at the end they just... really wanted "and they were all happy, the end." Ivan Kroll, what a sterotypical character, very boring, the empathetic yet corrupted cop too, what a lazy-ass with crazy hair. Like whose side are you on, Tim Cotton? Just do your job you botching loser. Slim was awesome, let's just put it that way. But why the fuck the penpal inmate just happened to get to Eli's house at the right moment, I thought he called him but he didn't and I thought "omg this show is kind of lame and so predictable"... I liked Bich Dang tho, she was insane and powerful, I wish we had seen her more. Her psychopathic son was nice to see too, Darren... But... The scene of when Eli goes selling the heroin... First of all, it's already their stock, why don't they just take it, Darren is a psycho with no loyalty, why the fuck would he give him 50k? And second of all, Eli was so unshocked about witnessing so many people just die in the front yard in a very violent fashion, that was so bizarre to me, the show started to become stupid at this moment, to me at least. He should have been a little more affected by the whole thing, like yeah he's reckless and all but he's not apathetic nor a psycho himself so wtf? I liked the scene of the vietnamese gang (when the camera enters the living room), that was kinda cool, looked more 90's than mid 80's, well everything did tbh. I also thought it was kind of boring that we never saw again the wannabe draco malfoy and the school shrink... They were recurrent for a while so I figured we would have another kind of end with them, especially draco. So yeah... the show was alright, it's good quality, the actors are great, the visual style is cool, it's not too long, not too quick, the thing with the phone was pretty cool, Gus drawing are very cool, I loved them all, I liked the story with the cars and the shared dreams, that was nice. It's emotional, there's a lot of love between the brothers and that touched me, I liked that they didn't show sex scenes (because I'm so BORED all of the time, every single fcking shows there are endless sex scenes, it's just story filler to get desesperate people attention at this point lmao), I also liked how they wanted to save their mom because in a way that's a lot like what kids in real-life tend to do when their moms are experiencing domestic violence and co-dependency, but how they wrapped the whole story wasn't really great to me. The 50k just vanished for what's her name again in a wheelchair (she could have been more in the story)... The whole journalist thing... that sucked. I would give it a 7/10, cause I liked it overall! I can't believe Ragnar died again never to be seen in a scene ! FFS I mean, we saw his beautiful blue eyes but that was it lmao.
