He only voted in the 2022 midterms. He never voted in any primaries.
He spent his highschool years being vocally conservative to the point that multiple classmates have independently described him as being memorable for that specifically. As an adult, he registered Republican despite neither parent being Republican. Kid was a conservative Republican. He was a young, dumb, mentally ill one, but definitely wasn't radicalized in liberal or leftist circles.
Disingenuous is trying to handwave away nearly a decade of observed conservative Republican behavior with a $15 donation that was immediately unsubscribed from.
He didn't donate to a liberal group. He donated to a "get out the vote" effort that used ACTBlue as its hosting/payment platform, based on an email campaign. He unsubscribed immediately afterward according to ACTBlue, which makes it look like a mistake.
On the other hand, he was a registered Republican (only voted in the 2022 midterms, didn't vote in any primaries), was a member of a local gun club for over a year, was known for being vocal about his conservative beliefs as described by multiple former classmates, classmates say he would hang out with folks who wore MAGA hats, he went to class in hunting gear and camo, was a guntube enjoyer, had Trump signs in his yard until just before shooting at Trump...
