I like Neil dirty and loud and loose - where do I go?
Post Body

Hey there.

As fate would have it I got my premium plan on Spotify last month but deplored the lack of Neil Young on there... And then we got Neil back.

I like what I already own on CD (Everybody Knows, Harvest, On The Beach, also Prairie Wind which sounds lush btw) but I mainly like songs/tracks which show the noisier, dirtier, jammier side of things.

I love most tracks in Everybody Knows, I love the 'barn' tracks on Harvest ('Words' ❤️❤️❤️) - also a big fan of the Dead Man soundtrack (and the movie!).

Listened to bits of Weld last night (The solo and outro to Fuckin' Up are ace) - put Cortez The Killer on tonight and love the long intro and solos (I don't get why NY gets a reputation as a one-note-solo guy. He's god-tier on electric really) - the whole song was a(nother) revelation.

So... Where do I find the more electric, dirty, drony, exploratory/experimental stuff? I like to experience music as albums rather than single tracks if it helps.

Also - if that's any indication, I'm a lifelong fan of Sonic Youth and the earthier, rough-around-the-edges side of Pink Floyd (pre-Dark-Side) as well as anything weird and wonderful (Amon Duul II, Godspeed!, Phill Nyblock, John Fahey, Michael Chapman, Eno...). I like tracks/albums which develop a vibe over time (if a track is over 7/8 minutes, I like that).

From what I've seen on this sub, you people are dedicated and you know your stuff.

I'd appreciate any pointers.

❤️☮️

EDIT: forgot to mention Tonight's The Night which sounds loose as hell. I love a mellow drunken groove as well.

EDIT2: Sorry if I'm not giving due thanks to everyone concerned but thanks a bunch people. I'm going down the rabbit hole now. See you on the other side. Just blasted Cortez, the version from Rust Bucket. Oh man I'm nearly crying.
