Hi everyone, apologies for formatting as I’m on mobile. My roommate and I have lived in our current unit since June of 2022, so not super long at all. However about 2 months ago we got new downstairs neighbors. Now I try not to interact with our neighbors, mostly because I’m not super social with random people. The downstairs neighbors did introduce themselves when they moved in, which seemed nice at first. Now for the last month they have been making a lot of noise. Noise typically isn’t an issue for me, especially because we have dogs and I know it’s easy to hear them when they get excited. The noise that is concerning is the fact I can hear him yell at his dogs and the dogs cry out. And the fighting that they do with each other. Today what tipped me into calling the police was the fact another domestic incident happened between the dude and his girlfriend. I had my window slightly open letting in some fresh air and I hear him outside his window (which is right below mine) yelling at it. And then he threw firecrackers at his window. I will also be informing the property management when they open again on Tuesday. This is mostly just a rant, however if anyone has any advice I’m open to it.

I also want to add, we have called animal control for the sake of the dogs. But they can’t do anything without proof of the dogs being abused.

Edit: Cops came again because they were being load and screaming at each other. Loud pop and screaming from an animal. Cops reported he lit off a firework in the home as a “prank” and the dogs got scared and were screeching. So just tell me again I’m an awful neighbor because I don’t mind my business. This guy is lighting off fireworks in the apartment right under mine. That’s pretty damn close to my business now.
