Hey again people,
Thank you again to anyone who commented on my Need For Speed Friction idea post, a EA employee picked it up over on the EA forums and it is now being shown to the Devs, but aside from that I'm very happy with what I came up with from the NFS dialogue posts and to anyone who just took the time to read it.
Now anyone who has read either of those posts https://www.reddit.com/r/needforspeed/comments/o7xah3/need_for_speed_friction_an_nfs_2022_idea/?sort=new Will know that Toyota is the first brand you see in the car list section, and I have had absolutely no issue adding them because when I look at the move Toyota is making towards reviving it's sports cars and getting involved in racing again https://memeburn.com/motorburn/2021/07/gr-yaris-launches-toyota-back-into-hot-hatches/ https://www.thedrive.com/news/41026/toyota-celica-could-come-back-as-an-electric-or-hydrogen-sports-car-report https://carbuzz.com/news/2022-toyota-gr-86-faces-its-first-major-motorsport-challenge and it's reappearance in at least two different video games, one of them being about illegal street racing https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.polygon.com/platform/amp/2019/11/20/20974498/list-of-cars-in-forza-horizon-4-toyota-supra-update-release-dates-xbox-one-pc https://autospruce.com/amp/forza-horizon-5-release-date-place-car-list/#Forza_Horizon_5_Car_List https://www.fastandfuriouscrossroads.com/dlc-pack-2/ it's becoming more and more apparent that Toyota aren't averse to having their cars in games about illegal street racing and they certainly aren't averse to them being modified. And as it stands, EA and Ubisoft it seems are the only developers who don't have the licenses for Toyota vehicles.
If I had to speculate, and take this with a grain of salt, I think there is some disagreement between EA and Toyota about the licensing fee and that this is the only thing stopping them from having Toyota in the next NFS game, and that once they agree on a price, we can expect to see the Supra, the Celica GT4, the GT86, the upcoming GR86 and my personal favourite car of all time, the MR2 SW20 in all their JDM glory in the next NFS game.
Aside from this it would be really silly for Toyota not to appear in the next NFS game because of what a strong seller the series is and what better way to promote the new Supra and GR86 than to put it into Need For Speed?
What do you guys think? Do you think there are any other reasons Toyota aren't in NFS besides the reasons I just mentioned?
