My father who will be 61 in November is coming to live with me for a while. He has hypermobility issues and it's effecting his walking. He basically shuffles when he walks and he has problems climbing stairs. I need to move to a bigger place before he arrives and I keep seeing lovely first floor apart but they obviously have stairs. I've mentioned this to him and he says he would manage but he wouldn't feel too good having to climb stairs often each day. I get the feeling he is saying he would manage as he doesn't want to put me off moving into a place I would like and he doesn't want to be a burden. But, I have to think about my father's well-being and if climbing stairs would be a problem for him. I can wait a little longer and see if a ground floor flat becomes available. I could really do with some advice on whether I am doing the right thing by not pursuing first floor flats and just waiting it out a little?
