I have been hotspotting using my phone for the past few years, and moved into my apartment about a year ago. In that time I have never had home internet at this address, and pretty sure the nbn was rolled out to my apartment complex while I was there (vague comment from a neighbour). Now, due to constantly having to renew my phone plan much too regularly, I am considering getting proper home internet. I am thinking of getting Superloop, and can get HFC at my address.
Superloop provide an eero 6 for $160, but I'm wondering if I'm better off buying my own. I live alone in a TINY apartment, all I do is stream Netflix (I don't care much about HD) and the occasional Zoom call when I actually work from home when is not very often. Essentially, I want to know what is the cheapest non-terrible modem/router I can buy (I have nothing at the moment).
Please ELI5, I have been out of the home internet game since before nbn existed and now feel very out of touch! Aware there are a million of these posts but none seem to discuss cheap options. Thanks :)
