Confused on how the 76ers were able to trade their 2027 first when OKC has possible rights to it. Is this on the condition that the 2025 pick to the Thunder is conveyed?
For context: OKC owns Philly’s top 6 protected 2025 first (top 4 protected in 2026 and 2027). Meaning that there is a possibility that OKC could end up with Philly’s 2027 pick. How can two teams have potential rights to the same pick?
If OKC ends up with Philly’s 2026 first, then Philly would be in violation of the Stepien rule with two consecutive firsts heading out.
Can anyone explain how this was allowed and how it works?
