The previous time the Knicks won a home game on a buzzer-beater, David Lee had his famous tip-in with 0.1 seconds left on December 20, 2006, vs the Bobcats. Before that game, the Knicks also had the longest active buzzer-beater drought of any team.
The longest home buzzer-beater drought now belongs to the Pelicans, who last hit one at home on January 19, 2009, when Chris Paul drained the 3 to beat the Pacers 103-100. In fact, the city of New Orleans hasn't seen a true buzzer-beater (hit with 0 seconds on the clock, no time added afterward) since that one either. That means it's been nearly 13 years since the buzzer-beater highlight reel included Smoothie King Center (previously New Orleans Arena).
The longest active buzzer-beater drought now belongs to...the Warriors? Yeah, despite how dominant they were in the mid-to-late 2010s, they haven't hit one since Iggy drained a 3 in Atlanta on January 3, 2014, to beat them 101-100, meaning it's been more than 8 years at this point. This gets brought up among a small group of Warriors fans every now and then.
We outside
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with RJ Barrett. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to RJ. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.
