This Tweet posted by ESPN Stats & Info is blatantly false.
Nikola Jokic made 13 of this 14 field goal attempts with Rudy Gobert as his primary defender in the Nuggets' win over the Jazz on Wednesday.
This stat straight up isn't true. I watched the entire game last night and remember numerous times, at least more than one where Jokic missed against Gobert. So I had to go back and go through the replay on league pass and look.
@8:14 left in the first quarter Jokic misses a hook shot clearly defended by Gobert.
Then again @3:58 left in the first Jokic misses another hook shot against Gobert. ESPN is already incorrect, but wait there's more.
9:18 left in the third quarter Jokic misses a running hook again guarded by Gobert.
5:12 left in the fourth quarter Jokic misses another running hook against Gobert.
@2:54 in the 4th quarter jokic airballs a jumper defended by Gobert.
20 seconds left in the game Jokic misses a floater again guarded by Gobert.
It took me 5 minutes to prove ESPN wrong. I get this is the era of fake news but this is ridiculous. I encourage anyone else with league pass to go back and look at this.
This thread where everyone is just blindly believing the stat and drawing narratives is deeply concerning. I'm not sure who's at fault here but it's concerning ESPN is wrong by this magnitude.
