Alright so, the running theory right now is that Bzdelik gave the Rockets an ultimatum, him or Melo. Now how does this theory get started you ask? Well people were already wondering why did Jeff Bzdelik leave the team for personal reasons, then it started being floated around that there is perhaps still some animosity from ol Jeffery towards Carmelo for helping get him fired from the Denver Nuggets in 04 after the team started 13-15.

So according to this Twitter user, the timelines match up. Melo signs with the Rockets, Jeff retires, then comes back and a day later it's floating around that Melo will be cut.
